Golden Gate Magic
Golden Gate Magic

San Francisco was half a country away the first half of my life. That it is less than four hours away now is pretty spectacular. It is awe inspiring each and every time I see the Golden Gate spires. ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye

Out My Hotel Window in San Fran
Out My Hotel Window in San Fran

Fog rolling in from the nearby Pacific created some very amber lights as I looked outside my hotel window in August. There's something about San Francisco -- I can stare out the window or people watch from the street for hours. ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye

Sausilito Reflections
Sausilito Reflections

If you're a Boomer, you might remember "Play Misty for Me" with Clint Eastwood. This is a hotel window in Sausilito and the reflections are fun. The town is small but oh-so-quaint. I can't help but remember being so afraid way back when while watching the movie. Funny how seeing a repeat of the movie seems kind of lame. LoL  ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye

Point Cabrillo Lighthouse just north of Mendocino has been completely renovated. It is beautiful. Oh, to have a "cup of joe" at this typewriter to create stories of the imagination. ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye

Mendocino, California
Mendocino, California

What do you love about Mendocino aside from its tremendous beauty? I love memories of camping and finding banana slugs in our tent (gross at the time) and poking through shops in town to see artisans work and building campfires and... #highlyrecommend  ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye

Mendocino from the Love Bench
Mendocino from the Love Bench

The #lovebench isn't far from where I'm standing taking this shot. Mendocino, CA is where they filmed some scenes for 'Murder She Wrote' with Angela Lansbury. It is such a treat to visit no matter when. ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye

Nugget Point LightHouse (NZ) | Those Stairs
Nugget Point LightHouse (NZ) | Those Stairs

A visit to the Catlins isn't complete without visiting the lighthouses. Nugget Point has been rehabbed and is striking against the long grass. It's worth the hike up those many steps to check it out. ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye

Nugget Point Lighthouse - Catlins - New Zealand
Nugget Point Lighthouse - Catlins - New Zealand

We had a great time traveling in a Jucy Van with our son and his GF checking out the Catlins in the month of March. Nugget Point was one of two lighthouses we visited. The coastline is outstanding - from sandy beaches to rocky and high. Highly recommend. That person strolling in the pic? My son.  ~Mary Lascelles / BoomerEye
