December is Upon Us!

Recent inquiries about getting just the right gift for a special someone is prompting this post. Too often that special someone in your life has all they need but could use just a little more art in their life! What a great gift a canvas or metal print would be for Christmas or Hanukkah! Here are a few that are favs of mine and might spark your imagination. If interested in ordering, please contact me soon. Order two and save! 12x12 and 12x18 are popular sizes -- just depends on whether you want square or rectangular.  Larger and smaller sizes work, too. I can get specific on price when I know what you're interested in.

Redding Rain - (square format, black and white version) The black and white version of 'Redding Rain' has been one of my most popular images over time. I found myself waiting for my son at the Redding Amtrak station int he middle of a rainy night. I looked up through my windshield and saw this marvelous sight. I'm so glad I thought to pick up my camera and play with those rain drops!

Bird's Eye View © Mary Lascelles (square format, black and white version) An old, formidable valley oak tree captivated my imagination daily at our last home. A spectacular tree with so much character, it gave us much pleasure throughout the year watching it go through the seasonal changes. Here it is in its fine winter attire -- with a bird sitting on top of the world on the top of it.

Good Night Moon © Mary Lascelles  (square format, black and white version) If you know Millville Plains Road in Shasta County, you probably are familiar with this tree. It seems the world is as I've seen it posted on Instagram by people who don't live in the area but they've heard about the tree. It's amazing. On this evening, I was saying 'good night' to the moon as it rose and I was headed home.

The 3 Shastas - © Mary Lascelles (rectangular format, color version) Taken in the autumn of 2014, this was before the rains returned and the water level was down a bit. What a sight to behold! Mt. Shasta, Shasta Dam, and Lake Shasta.

Shasta View Color - (square format, color version) Redding, CA seems to get more colorful annually. This curve of maple trees is tremendous to observe in the autumn on Shasta View near the entrance to the McConnell Foundation and Mountain View Middle School.

View of Redding © Mary Lascelles (rectangular format, color version) This image actually hung in the Redding airport for a few months. It was printed on metal and looked stunning but I've also had it printed on canvas and have seen it framed and it was awesome. (framing optional, of course) Does anyone else think Redding is one of the prettiest towns in California??

Ten Thousand More Images Tucked Away

It is very hard to pick favorites for a blogpost -- to encourage people to start thinking about special gifts for special people. Or maybe filling a spot at home on the wall that's been BEGGING for some artwork. Why not a favorite BOOMEREYE (aka Mary Lascelles) photograph? I'd love to help you out on that!!

If there's one thing I'm not, it's a good self promoter. I love photography and have since I was young. There are few things that get me more excited than working with folks to come up with the right image in the right size in the right format. There are a lot of options but they can be narrowed down quickly.

Here's to a wonderful last few weeks of 2017. Goodness knows we're all ready for it.

My best,

Mary Lascelles
